MATTHEW ARMEN COBO PHOTOGRAPHY

Matthew Armen Cobo is an independent photographer interested in exploring boundaries and tip-toeing around personal and societal limits. In past projects 'Living Zer0' (2023) and 'Take, Don't Touch' (2024), Cobo explored themes and concepts of voyeurism, isolation, the uncanny, and The Othered. Graduating in April 2024 from the University of Redlands with a Bachelors of Arts in Media and Visual Culture Studies and Studio Art Photography, Cobo draws on both his expertises and passions to create work that tells a rich, distinct personal narrative. Cobo's favorite artists range from a multitude of practices, like filmmakers Robert Eggers, Guillermo Del Toro, photographer Daido Moriyama, and artist H.R. Giger. Currently, Cobo is working on a variety of projects based in New Mexico, including a series of ongoing photos based in El Paso Texas, and a photo album from a soul-searching trip to Japan.
